USAToday Snapshots®
Earnings by degree

What correlations can you make between an individual’s education level and his or her average annual salary? Between an individual’s gender and his or her salary? Based on the data, by what percentage do men out earn women, despite having the same level of education? How do you think such discrepancies in men’s and women’s salaries were established? How can they be overcome? Read through USA TODAY and find several articles or advertisements about work that interests you. Choose three different jobs, and then make a list of the qualifications one would need in order to attain that position. What level of education is needed? Is it the same for each job? Why or why not? Are there skills necessary for one job that are not needed for another? If so, what are they?
