How hard can it be?
As you study the information, think of the reasons adults might have for believing that the occupations listed are particularly difficult? Are the most difficult jobs the most respected ones? Why or why not? Do any of these careers appeal to you? If so, which ones?
Describe the type of educational background, technical training or leadership skills that are necessary for each of the jobs listed. Are the skills the same for each occupation? Could skills from one job be successfully adapted to another? How?
Read through USA TODAY and find an article about a person who has a unique or difficult job — one that you think would be tough to have, e.g., a prime minister, pro athlete, stock broker or actor. Write a journal entry from the point of view of the person who holds the job describing a typical day or week.
